Junior road cyclist Ian Richards heads off later this month to Germany.

Ian, who lives in Cleveland and attends year 10 at Ormiston College, will take part in the Bundesliga cycling series for under 17 riders.

Last season Ian earned gold silver and bronze medals on the road and track in state titles and finished 8th in the national road race in Canberra. He also finished in the top 4 in every race he contested in Queensland.

“I am looking forward to riding on the wrong side of the road and there are some really hilly races. I think my climbing is getting better as I get older and my finishing sprint is going well too, I will be racing in big races all over Germany and even in Belgium, I am really excited” Ian told us after coming third in a recent adults race in New South Wales. “I want to do my best and learn as much as possible”
